side steps removed... thankgoodness i had a air ratchet wrench...

now i know why there were so many rust flakes... i removed the plastic steps which were covering in those holes you see... and water seeped in thru the gaps and stayed in the tube causing it to rust out.... this design is bad...

i need to think how i can prevent more water from seeping in thru the gaps... when the plastic steps are mounted back..



not sure how much it could remove.... but i have dipped this rim for 12 hrs now in OXALIC ACID
.. seems to have removed all chrome rusted spots... i want to strip off all the chrome then powder coat the rims... might have to return to elbow grease ...

I heard it and heed it, never,never,never get under a vehicle without big blocks of wood in lots of places. I don't trust metal.

after 2 months... i have completed the rear clean up... i am good to assemble them back... i hope i remember which bolt goes where.. etc...

rims also coated to black

all done... i am quite happy with the look of the black out rims... i will do the same for the front 2 which are still the original chrome

really nice work. and I figure when GOD made yellow HE knew the h2 would show up. a perfect marriage imo.

im a red h3 and thinking of black wheels and ??
