H1 ?
where did the term H1 come from...I am old school army we called it the Hummer
|
AM General called them Hummers also. When AM General sold the marketing rights to the Hummer name to GM and GM designed and introduced the Hummer H2 to the marketplace the Hummer needed a model designation so that they could avoid as much confusion as possible, hence the Hummer was designated the H1. My 97 and 2000 just have Hummer badges on them. The 2006 has the H1 sidemarkers in addition to Hummer on it.

I have an H3, but I feel there is only one HUMMER, the original and that is it.
I kind of wish the H3 had a name some what dis associated with Hummer. It is actually happening now with the split. |
