gotta love used trucks!
I've been getting a bad banging noise when I turn in the Dodge I bought a few weeks ago. I go under to check it out and find that I have a destroyed tie rod end on the drag link that connects the pitman arm. Ok, no big deal. I buy a new one and go to replace it......oh dear GOD!!!! Some idiot welded the tie rod end shaft to the pitman arm and welded the pitman arm to the power steering shaft[:@][:@][:@][:@]you gotta love backyard shadetree mechanics
yes I know it's not h3 related...but I don't care[8D]:D |

RE: gotta love used trucks!
to be expected when you buy a used truck I guess. I'm actually kinda glad......gives me an excuse to get away from the family for a few hours. I just went out and checked it again and I think I might be able to grind the weld off without destroying the pitman arm and the shaft on the steering box. I just posted it cause I find it amazing how some idiots repair vehicles.

RE: gotta love used trucks!
yeah it is
i have seen alot of crazy stuff too we have a z-71 in the shop now that the guys who lifted it put regular nuts on the tie rods no castle nuts or carter pins |
RE: gotta love used trucks!
I have actually heard that this happens to alot of dodges.. Im not talkin about the welding but the tire rods going bad with the ball joints... and for some reason Dodge wont do anything about it... I know a few people that have Durangos and Dakota's and they have had the same problem....
