I work for an O.E.M. auto glass company. The rear factory "tint" is about 18% to 22%. Meaning they only let in 20% of the sunlight. I went with 20% on the front windows and it matches pretty good.

We make the Silverado windows at my facility. One time an individual whose identity shall not be disclosed made some front windows for a Silverado that were made with "galyxsee" glass. That is the name we use for the factory tinted glass. They were awsome. Even if a cop pulled the vehicle over, they appeared factory. I only wish my facility produced the H3 glass, because then this individual whose identity shall not be disclosed whould make some "factory" tinted front windows for my....I mean their Hummer.

 

I've been thinking about tinting my front windows but just havn't gotten around to it yet. What is the average cost for the 2 front windows to be done with 20%.
I've had all my other cars done and never had any problems. I did get a fix-it ticket once when they pulled me over for speeding they threw that in also. I just paid the fine and kept the tinting.

 

I would say any more then $50-$75 and they're just trying to screw you because you own a Hummer.

I had my front done at the dealership, same 20%, cost me $80

 

Mine cost $90.00 for the front windows.
I could've got it done for 75.00, but I got the SUPER-DUPER-LET-US-BEND-YOU-OVER tint that was guaranteed for like 15,000 years...

I paid $75 for mine. In Ohio all front-side tints are illegal but if you stay away from the dark tints they don't seem to bother with you.

 

I'm in Ohio, haven't had a problem yet. (knock on wood) My last 3 trucks have been tinted this way

 

I have 20% on my sides as well as a 5% strip on the front... In Southern WV they usually don't say anything about tint at all... I have seen some H2s with 5% all around and a 5% strip at the top and bottom of their front windshield leaving about a foot and a half of vision and the cops don't say anything...

Since tinting in Guam isn't Illegal, all car dealerships here put tint for free for every new car sold. You have a choice of light, medium or dark tint. I had the dealership tint allthe windows of my H3 dark and had the front windshield full faced medium.
