Fuel Level Sensor

Hello everyone, I have a quick question. I can't find my answer anywhere. I own a 2003 H-2. Bought it brand new and never had a single problem with it until this week. I'm pretty sure I need a Fuel Level Sensor. Whats happening is this. The gas gauge was stuck on E and the low fuel light would stay on. Someone told me to take it down a bumpy road to maybe loosen it up. That did not work and the fuel gauge still read E with fuel light on. A few days later I started it up and it appeared to be back to normal. The gas gauge read 3/4's of a tank. As I sat there and watched the gas gauge, I noticed it to fluctuate back and forth from 3/4's to 1/2. I then filled the tank full and the gas gauge now reads 3/4's of a tank of gas. When I start it up it goes well past the full line and in a matter of min's it drops back down to 3/4's of a tank and fluctuates back and forth.
If it is in fact the Fuel Level Sensor my question is, Do I need to drop the gas tank to replace the sensor or is there somewhere in the floor of the truck under the carpet that will allow me to get to it without removing the gas tank? Also, does anybody know what the part # is for a Fuel Level Sensor for the Hummer.
Thank You all for your input!! It is greatly appreciated.
Mark

Are all the other gauges working OK? It would seem like a fuel level sensor to me but with the known trouble these trucks have had with the dash gauges I would not rule a cluster problem out.

Every other gauge is working fine. It's just the fuel gauge. Thank's Again!!
