Perfect definition of capitalism....Supply and Demand. He has the very limited "Supply", anyone who wants it bad enough represents the "Demand"......

Make him an offer and see how heartless he really is...

I'd have to agree. His is also not used either.... You would be getting a 100% NOS part with all the original unused connectors, wiring, bolts, instructions, etc. That might very well be the only NOS one left anywhere. I do think $2250 is a stretch but I'd venture to guess that considering its brand new, it is probably worth at least a grand to someone.

Like chooch says, supply and demand. How much supply is out there of those that are NOS? Someone also has had to store that long box for close to ten years as well and have their money tied up in it the entire time.

By the same logic, some person who bought some new car years back and then just stored it and put it up for sale years later still brand new is a scumbag because its worth today 5 times what it was new. A more recent example, earlier this year the GM Heritage Center let a number of vehicle go to Barrett Jackson to be sold. One was a 2008 H2, practically new (I think it had under 5000 miles on it, was used for displays and shows), sold for $110,000. After the auction fees, well over double what its window sticker price was. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Even...MMER-H2-216243 Personally, I think it was worth it. That one was one of the probably only dozen of the special "Black Chrome Sedona" edition ones that stayed here in the USA (most of that special edition were sent to the UAE).

Seems perfectly fine to me. ANY rare item will go up when the demand is greater. More power to the seller for saving a part that no one ever thought would be worth more than they paid for it.
