Front locking diff avail 2009
Was in the Hummer dealer checking out the Veyrons (My Hummer dealer also sells Rolls, Bentley Bugatti, Spyker, Mazeratti and Lamborghini).
I asked the sales guy what changes there were if any for 2009 (Hummer is desperately trying to get people like me topull ahead theirlease for a 2008 H3s for $220 to $270 a month for 24 months.) He told me that the only change was an available locking front diff. I suppose that is only on the Adventure Package. Thought the couple of you that offroad a lot would like to know (if you don't already). |

Front diff, bluetooth, new rearview camera system...:D;)
|
RE: Front locking diff avail 2009
I'm assuming the front diff is able to be retrofitted to 08's (alphas w/ cast iron front housings) but I wonder at what cost!?:(

RE: Front locking diff avail 2009
Supposedly they will retrofit to the 08 without issue but no one has done it yet so we will see.
|
RE: Front locking diff avail 2009
Is that option already available for the 08's or do we still have to wait?

Hi Tom,
Spoke with my contact in Melbourne today and he told me it would be end of year at earliest. I am getting together some sales info on US sales as that is what would change their minds. With H3 imports into Oz limited to 2,000 a year they will not be in a rush to develope it for the Oz market, but if they see bigger number in the states........... |
RE: Front locking diff avail 2009
Thanks for the info.

RE: Front locking diff avail 2009
I had a chance to drivean H3 equipped with the new front locker and it isawesome. Here's a blog I wrote on the subject:
http://blogs.fourwheeler.com/6236540...h3t/index.html The button for the new front locker is placed next to the button for the rear locker in the "4x4 Control" area. It replaces the stability control button, which is moved lower in the stack to one of those unused round holes near the bottom.Togglingin and out of lock mode was very intuitive due to the placement of the switches. The front locker itself is cast-iron just like the front diff it's found in. |
