RE: First trip in the Alpha
The Corvette clubs have done a good job of promoting the wave. I joined NCCC in 1977 and they were promoting the "Save the Wave" back then. I don't know of any other car groups that do that. I do get a fair number of H2 & H3 owners wave at me when I am in one the H1s and I always wave back but there are so many H2s and 3s here in Socal that most don't pay attention to each other.

RE: First trip in the Alpha
Glad you love the H3 Alpha, I can't wait until I get home in April, take mine out of storageand head straight to the dealership to trade my 2007H3X for a 2008 Alpha with the X package (I like the color grill, chrome guard and hard tire cover).[sm=drooldude.gif]
I paid cash for my 2007 and I am in a good position for a trade because I got it at a very good price ($30,000.00 OTD). Right now the 2007 H3X with all the bells and whistles is booking for $28-32,000.00. Hummer wave to all...[sm=hiya.gif][sm=hiya.gif] |

RE: First trip in the Alpha
patches, if its any consolation, i took my new Alpha on a road trip over the holiday from dallas to el paso and my mileage was inconsistent as well. heading west againstheavy wind/jet stream, barely got 12 mpg(!). heading back east (no wind that day), got about 16 mpg. pretty much drove 80-85 the entire time both ways. as of today, about 1900 miles on him.
with all that being said, i sure did enjoy mine too. just wait until you take it off-road...SO MUCH POWER!!! glad to hear you're happy w/ the purchase!! lil d |
