x2 what shorbus said. You can also buy an automobile fire extinguisher for about $12 to $14 at walmart.

all you need to do is make sure they're rated for abc class fires, that will cover everything from a tp flare-up after a jalapeno dinner to your oil catching fire.

I'm actually a fire fighter so all set there... Was just hoping to get a look at the actual Hummer H3 option fire extinguisher package... Normally, I would only use an Amerex extinguisher but thought maybe theirs was as high quality...

i see, you were trying to catch us in something and then SLAM us on our ignorance. i see how you are now, better watch my back . . .

so, is Amerex a brand name, or type? i don't wanna try to put out a fire with some cheesy extinguisher if i can get a real one.

I checked on Ebay and found multiple listings for a fire extinguisher for a H3 and other GM vehicles. Seems to have flames on it, I don't think it's a 'genuine' GM accessory.

Yes Amerex is probably the best one around and their 2.5 abc powder or 2.5 halon type are surely great for vehicles... I can't go with the flame one, just a bit too fabulous for me I'm afraid... I was hoping the stock one GM sold was maybe an Amerex or equal brand but that level is really the only ones I'd trust with a fire in the middle of nowhere that I simply had to put out (or walk)... Lots will work mind you, but few are all but guaranteed to work and in a fire, that is kind of a must... And no, wasn't hoping to catch anyone snoozing, just wanted to see the stock GM one up close to decide which way to go...

Maybe that h3 fire extinguisher is like that crappy emergency kit in the h2. It costs about $250 at the dealership, about $80 on ebay, and yet you can scrounge everything in it for about $20 at walmart. Just because it has an H2 logo on it, they make you pay through the nose.[:'(][:@]
