Does anyone know if the factory multi cd stereo will work as a replacement to the base model single disc unit or does it rely on a separate amp for sound? I have the single and would like to upgrade to the multi if it is just a plug and play swap. If this is possible, are there any special actions that need to be taken to ensure proper removal and installation as there is a security mechanism built in each unit? I tried a search on this with no luck. Thanks in advance for any help / advice.

 

The base single CD player stereo has an amp built in. The 6 disc player relys on the monsoon external amp. So it is not a plug and play swap because you would need an external amp. to drive the speakers.
