Extended warranty will not replace both mirrors

One of the mirrors on my 2005 H2 will no longer fold in. The dealer says the replacement mirror does not match the old mirror. There is quite a bit of difference. BUT, the extended warranty company, Zurich / Universal, will not pay to replace the working mirror so they match because it is not broken. Any suggestions?

RE: Extended warranty will not replace both mirrors

Hey VegasGuy, I had the same promlem a little over a month ago, except both my mirrors wouldnt fold in,it ended up being both mirrors had to be replaced, along with the drivers door control module, mine was out of waranty so it was an expensive fix at 1488.00 out of my pocket, with the parts and labor to install them and for some one to program the drivers control module, if there gonna pay for the one to get replaced ya might consider bitting the bullet and just paying for the second one your self and have them both replaced so they both match, they will replace them with the new designed mirrors likes on the 2006 and above H2's....... just my 2 cents...........

Call me frugal. For now I'm leaning toward just waiting for the driver's side to quit working, too. It sounds like a pretty common problem and with a little extra (ab)use it should not take that long before it fails, also. On the other hand, if I can find a really cheap 2005 passenger side mirror I will replace it myself.

If you accidentally knock the mirror so it folds forward it will break the mechanism and quit working ;)
