SO I am aproaching 50,000 miles, and need to decides if i want the extended warrenty or not. Dealer said i could walk in with 49,999 and get same price.

so I drive about 22,000 miles a year so is it the right thing to do?

a 36,000 mile warrenty that costs around $3,000or so would only last 18 months


will i really have that much issues? i mean i could put $3,000 in the bank and have it " in case" something breaks?

depends on the history so far. do you offroad much? had many needed repairs already? i had never had an extended warranty before, but now i don't know that i'll ever go without one. i've recouped the cost of my extended warranty 3 times already.

 

My experience has been that I haven't had that many issues with my vehicles so I might pass on the extended warranty. If you have had issues with your truck or do lots of hard off roading I would probably get the warranty.

 

33,000 miles now.17,000 to go on my factory warr. MAYBE.

 

I really dont do any hard core 4 wheelin, only real problems i have had is the radio, which was replaced, and the head issue, which was fixed as well

 

You should have demanded the warranty when they replaced the head. I did and am covered for an additional 3 years or 45000 miles after the factory warranty expires.

 

yea i know , but i was new to hummer then, my head went out at 6,000 miles, so i still had 44,000 left. didnt know that was something i could do till 1000's of miles later

 

I have had one on the last vehicles we've owned. I'm paranoid and figure that as soon as I don't get one the dang thing will break as soon as I click past the warranty. It's like my insurance, I don't hardly ever use, but I need it I'm glad I have it.
