exploding shocks
My H2 Hummer's rear suspension apparently inflated until it exploded like a bomb went off. I heard it from a mile away. The vehicle was unoccupied and just sitting in the drive. Has anyone else heard of this happening?

man that sucks!! I had a lexus LX470 and had air ride. The compressor went bad and it rode like crap $3800 later it rode great again. I said to myself I would never get another car with air ride....its a pain..Maybe now would be a good time to do the shock/strut conversion and get rid of the expensive air ride.
Food for thought |
This was MOVED to the H2 section because,..... you know where it says: "This section is an archive of older posts, please post new questions in the specific model section. Thank you!" .....we should try to do that. Aye?

The relay switch probably got stuck and somehow the bags built up too much pressure.
Relay switch is $30 and bags $600 , all installed. I debated switching to coils but decided to keep air. I love air ride |
fyi the bags are very easy to replace and you can get them for alot less than that. I think I paid about 170 for both. they were o.e. bags from gm. I think they are made by firestone?. took about 30 minutes to replace them myself.
