Exhaust problem.

Went to start the truck up sat. and heard a ticking noise from the right side engine, sounds like theres a leak around the exhaust manifold. did a seach and it sounds like a common problem. Is the exhaust part of the drivetrain warranty. At 52000 miles so no bumper to bumper. If not does any body have any experiance with what the dealer might charge for the repair. The dealer has been great in the past, But I also hear the (new) GM Corp are not honoring some warrenty issus from the(Old) GM Im setting up an appointment to take it in to see what they say, just want to be prepared before hand. I have a 08 3.7 base

If it is a broken exhaust manifold bolt, it might be covered, but you'll never know unless you take it to a dealership. Call first and ask questions.

I've had a tick that comes and goes on my Alpha since shortly after I bought it. They found broken exhaust manifold bolts while it was in for routine warranty stuff and also did that work under warranty.

I think my ticking started shortly after that. I can never tell where its coming from, whats causing it, and it's been to different dealers for the issue and none of them cared enough to find the tick.

Maybe one day I'll get to the bottom of it but my truck runs fine and doesn't always tick so whatever I guess.....

:(

Took it in today and it was a cracked exh. manifold and was fixed today under drivetrain warrenty. sounds so much better Thanks New Gm!
