i have to take it in to firestone for an alignment. maybe ill see if they can hook up their OBDII and check the engine temp.

 

Hi have a friend and she has a 2006 h3 hummer. her check engine light came on and my OBDII reader code says Low Coolant Temp. Should I change both the temp sensor and the Thermostat?
I read that the thermostat is on the left (driver side) how difficult a job and where is the best place to drain the coolant from?

does it read actual temp?
mine is 195
=/- when hot.
if you are low it prob is t stat. lots of threads on changing it if you can find them on searching.

 

My 06 threw the low coolant temp and the the temp gauge was between 1/4-1/2. I then changed the t-stat and its now between 1/2-3/4 sometimes a little higher when its hot. That fixed the code problem.
