dragging noise on more than 20 Hummers

Hi friends.

My name is Ahmad & I am the leader of hummer arabia team.
a lot of my members have a problem we can't find a Solution for it. the problem on Hummer H2 only .
It is like dragging noise under the driver seat near the front differential
when acceleration from 20 to 40 miles.

The same dragging noise on more than 20 Hummers but some of them the sound is annoying & some of them brely hear
In my hummer I changed the both sides wheel hup in the front & nothing changed.

When I lift the car the sound disappears.

The differential oil is good. Can any one tell us what is the problem??

It might have something to do with your brakes. I had that issue and it was the dust shield touching the rotor. Also after wheeling ive had mud and small rocks cause issues with the rear brakes.

thank you for your response

I did clean it & the sound still the same

Can you post a video with the noise in it.

Ahmad 11-30-2012 12:52 PM

I forgot to tell you that after 60m/h the dragging noise Becomes whining noise

It won't be heard on a video or sound clips. You have to drive it to feel it & hear it :)

Can you pay for a couple of plane tickets so we can come and check it out?:D

I do not have the issue you are describing by the way

"Could" it be the differential?

dr.drew2 11-30-2012 03:19 PM

answer yes check for leaks grab driveshaft and see if moves side to side

Sounds like your differential is shot... Does it have fluid?

yes it does :(

dr.drew2 12-02-2012 07:18 AM

you need to look at the differential fluid, you are looking for metal particles in the fluid. If this is there you likely have a bearing in your front differential that has gone bad

Ahmad 12-02-2012 12:51 PM

I Found that if I turn right or left the sound is getting low

dr.drew2 12-02-2012 06:59 PM

check your front hubs

check your front hub assembly. they are notorious for failure

Man1nboat 12-07-2012 09:20 AM

Did you find out the problem??

Yes I did .

My problem were the tires ( Hankook 315/70/17 ) made in 2010

nlhummer 12-08-2012 03:52 PM

What do tires have to do with that?

Man1nboat 12-09-2012 12:24 AM

Really? I have Hankook tires on my Jeep and love them... The ones for the H2 are D rated. Doesn't make sense...

The H2 size made in china , not in korea

I think the quality not that good as the Korean made.

what is the tire size on your Jeep?

Man1nboat 12-09-2012 06:10 PM

The Jeeps are 245/70/17 and made in Korea. I guess tires can make noise obviously, but never heard anything to panic over... Hey, at least you found the problem!
