Does 2006 hummer h3 base come with a block heater?

I have a 2006 H3 base. I live in Calgary Canada and our winters get to -30 average and -38 with windchill on average. I was always under the impression that my hummer would have a block heater. I just went out and looked for the cord but I couldnt find it. Since daylight savings has been in effect it gets pitch black around 5:30pm so it was dark while looking for it. I'm not sure if my vehicle is from the states or if it is from canada. I am also aware that i can buy a block heater system for around $50.
My question is do the 2006 3.5 h3's come with a block heater from the factory?
Thanks

No, not as a "standard" item. The Block Heater was an option. theBroken added an OEM block heater to his rig last year and said it was a pretty stright forward install.

I ordered my 06 with a factory engine block heater. They do not come stock that way.

Years ago in the early 80's I had an Oldsmobile Toronado Diesel. I t was 2-3 years old when I got from the original owner who said he did not get the car with that option. I decided a block heater would be a good idea so I bought one and crawled under he car to decide if I would install it or get someone else to do it. What I found was a heater in one of the freeze plugs and no cord so I guess if you ordered the heater they stuck a cord on. Might be worth checking.

I picked up the heater plus the cord for $65. I thought I could install it within a couple of minutes because I'm the kind of person who never reads the directions and just goes at it. I had to remove the alternator and with some fancy tools stuck it right into the correct frost plug. Beats dealer pricing at $350

I never took pictures while doing it. Its -25 with wind chill right now so I'll wait until its a little warmer to shove a camera and get a picture of it.
