Do you change oil at 3000 miles?
 

Was reading on changing out transmission fluid and how often so........

How often do you guys replace motor oil and filter? Every 3000 miles? 5k?10k? higher.

I do.Much higher. Mine is replaced every 25000 miles (h2) with filter changes every 12500 miles. I run amsoil and have for years. Some people say oil is cheap insurance. I say true, but not necessary.
I have done extended oil changes for 10 years now. I have done as much as 35k between oil changes on previous cars

So what do you do?

I usually change oil and filter about every 3500 miles.

If I did that I would be changing oil once a month

I change my oil when my truck tells me to. I use Mobile 1 and so far it's been over 6k miles.

Your truck does not say that. It just counts down the miles (at least on my H2)

25k -35K ... Are you talking about transmission fluid only right????

If you do 25k on engine oil changes .. My friend you are either insane or you hate cars

I do mine every 3500-4000 miles or before any longer trip (1000 miles)

It is 25k oil changes and no I am not insane. I have done this for 10 years and probably half a million miles total.
What is insane is to change every 3 1/2 thousand miles. That is what grandpa did. Time for you to read up AMSOIL - Signature Series 100% Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil (ASL)
