Different ignition key stuck problem-help
I seem to be having a different ignition key stuck issue than what I found on my search here. My ignition key is stuck in the "start" position and I can't turn the truck off. The only way I can turn the truck off is by disconnecting the battery and pulling ignition fuse. If I reconnect the battery the truck immediately tries to start again. The other weird thing is that I can pull the key out while it's still in that "start" position and they truck keeps on running. I checked the wires under the shifter and they all look good. I'm thinking it's a warn/broken ignition cylinder. Anyone have any thoughts or had the same problem?
Thanks, Dan |
Yup, it was the ignition lock cylinder. The metal flange that holds down the tumbler springs had lifted up and was preventing the cylinder from rotating out of the start position.
