Importkiller is right on the difference of the hub caps. The earlier trucks had the silver and black and the later the all silver. Steve

Earler models had the GM logo in a different spot, parking lights were DTRL, and balck and silver hubs.

I think we need to set up a hub cap exchange thread! I'm sure someone has the black inserts that is envious of your silver! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
I will trade silvers for blacks!! ...except i'm missing one....stupid car wash....

A guy I know at work just bought an 07 and has alluminum wheels (2 thin spokes) with the silver and black cap (not chrome and black cap). I really don't think it has anything to do with when it was made just what type wheel you buy with your H3?

more than likely the guy you know got old caps, all new ones are all silver now. The truck probably had those rims put on at the dealership for whatever reason and they had those laying there. They were probably take offs from an early model 06 that switched to chrome rims.

Here is my take on the different caps for 2007.

Buy a 2007 H3 with Cast/Brushed Aluminum double spoke Wheels you get these caps.

Buy an 2007 H3 with Chrome Aluminum double Spoke or Solid Spoke Wheels and get these caps.

I have seen many new 07's with the silver and Black cap on the lot at my dealer in the cast wheel and would assume they are not all take-offs.

Ya know..There must have been three versions of the 06 build:

1. The original with the GM logo by the H3 emblem..With the tow hooks screwed on from behind the bumper and with Silver/Black caps

2. Second version with the only difference that I know of from the original, is that the tow hooks are screwed on from the outside. (Mine)

3. The third version with the GM logo mounted closer to the front fender flare and it has the ALL silver caps..

Just a little observation when I have nothing better to do.
