Trade it in. My dealer priced mine out to do a total upgrade to the adventure package. $7,500.00.

Damn.

Can I make a suggestion? If you want to make it more adventurous/off-road-ish, why don't you buy some Mickey Thompson tires, and get some better shocks put on? HummerMike has the most kick-*** MT's I have ever seen, and up close they REALLY make the truck look better. But the important thing is he said it's like Night and Day when it comes to the improvements they make off-roading. I liked them so much I'm defnintely getting a set as soon as it's time. He said the road noise is minimul and it would be alot cheaper to do. I'm not sure if they make aftermarket shocks yet, but you may want to check Bilstien or Eddlebrock's web site (I don't think I spelled those right) Eddlebrock has the IAS off-road shocks, but I have heard from people that they have the reputation of blowing gaskets when put under too much pressure. Last time I checked, you could get some really good Bilstien shocks for about $80 a pop, and if you shop around, you can find the MT tires for a decent price. All together with installation, I would figure you could probably get all that done with labor for around $1500. I plan on doing that next summer to my rig. If you are technical savy, you can probably even do the shocks yourself!.

Without the Adv. Pkg. what level off-road trails has anyone been on. At the Drivng Academy I tackled everything in the Adv. Pkg. H3 but I kept the rear locker off. To try to see what I could get through, I got through their level 3 trail even after it snowed the morning of the drive. The instructor did recomend that I at least get rocker panels and underbody protection installed. Headed out to Paragon this coming weekend, I'll be able to tell what I can get through there.

Sorry to say been there done that, I have the same situation as you do and it's not possible to upgrade to the adventure package without it costing a fortune, I posted a topic yesterday on the powertrax e-locker hoping it would fit in the H3 and found out today that it does not and there is noting on the market at this time.
I've been told that AM general will be coming out with an e-locker for the H3 non adventure in January, I'll keep you posted

I forgot to add the link to one of my videos on you tube, without the locker the H3 is still very capable.
