A Complete Service for 100K
Truck has been garaged when not used for most of its life so all the rubbers seem in very good condition and all the bells and whistles (electronics) seem to have never been used/played with.....apart from radio.
It was serviced regularly by the agent.
My question is.....what needs doing (engine, radiator, trans, brake, power steering etc) and what fluids go back in? Should somethings be left alone?
I have read for example that the engine can be cleaned with an engine flush additive and then 5W30 oil put back in. Is this best for this age truck and temp?
What about the other fluids?
All and any information gratefully received.

I don't know if you have a 2005 owners manual, but just in case, below is an electronic copy of your 2005 model. The maintenance section is in Section 6 towards the back of the manual. The charts will give you some basic ideas on what and when things should be changed. Some of these could be done yourself while others could be done by your mechanic. Costs will vary and since youre in a different country, I wouldn't be able to estimate how much these services would cost.

The one item I am always hesitant about changing around your mileage if you don't know whether or not it's been changed in the past would be the trans fluid (ATF). Many times in the past I would change ATF on older vehicles thinking I am doing good only to have trans start slipping and carrying on a month or so later, especially GM transmissions .

I have had a quick rummage through the manual and it says on Chapter 6-8:
(h) Change automatic transmission fluid and filter if the vehicle is mailnly driven under one or more of these conditions:
- In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 90F (32C) or higher.
As we are in the 40C's for several months of the year, it may be prudent to have done so I know its been done.
