Coil retainer bolt broke off, HELP!
Figures that on the last coil that I attempt to remove, the retainer bolt breaks off. It is the front coil. I tried everything I know of to try to remove it. I guess the upper intake will have to come off? Is that bolt only used to hold the coil down. Would I be able to put it back on the plug and drive to a nearby shop, less than 5 miles? I feel soooooo F'ed right now. Any advice will be appreciated.

These bolts are just used to hold the coils in place, but I believe if you just lift the coil that the bolts will come off with it.

I put everything back together and it runs fine. I am taking it to my buddy's shop in the morning. I don't have an extractor kit. The plugs in my 2006 had not been changed since new or previous owner over-tightened them. Either way, it will cost me.

Really sorry to hear that. You looking to go back to OEM it's the delphi coil pack you will want to get

Coil pack is now bolted down. Took it to a retired GM mechanic's house referred to me by my brother-in-law. He drilled out the remainder of the bolt, inserted new threads and it is like new. The hole is maybe 1/2mm-1mm off because it was difficult to get perfectly center for the center-punch. At any rate, it is good now.:D
