Hi,
how do i remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate?
i have looked it up in the repair manual but it does not clearly describe how to do it.

Carefully pull straight out.....no screws, just clips.

I better clarify....I'm referring to the gauge cluster trim plate....hope that's what you meant, and not the center stack.

correct, thats the one i mean. the one with the Mls / rev petrol gauges etc.
just pulling it carefully straight out. Going to try today.

changing out gauge cluster lights
 

i have been through the whole internet and back and cannot find any how-to's on changing out the gauge cluster lights on my 2006 h3 hummer. do they take the neo wedge bulbs? or the t194? or do they have to be soldered? i'm trying to find the bulb type they take (led's preferred) and if possible, a how-to with pictures.

There is a video on utube that shows a guy in time laps swapping them out by soldering them. He is changing the colors. There is a string in the for sale section about a blue cluster for sale that talks about it and has a link.
