Guess I'm officially a Hummer owner now that my H2 has become possessed by demons. She did the whole "no, you may not have your key back as I'd like to keep it in its tumbler in the accesory position, and just for fun, how about I make the entire electrical system go haywire to keep you entertained?" thing. Got the key out by pushing the manual release button in the column, replaced the ignition switch (assuming it was the source of electrical anarchy) and so far so good... sort of. Short test drive revealed no more elec gremlins (yet) but the key still hangs up more often than not. Upon further inspection, the "doohickey" that has the manual release button on the bottom of it acts like it has a short in it. If I wiggle the plug where it goes into the back of it I can make the manual button pull in and release the key like its supposed to. Havin trouble searching for said doohickey since I haven't a clue what it's called! Anybody know what I'm referring to? It's made of white nylon/plastic with a little cylindrical metal solenoid type thing that has the manual release button coming out of it and is attached to the back of the ignition lock housing. I'll try to post pics but haven't been very successful in the past...
