Sounds like a lot of BS work for almost zero improvement to me? I'll use my early 07 switches thank you.

Anybody lay awake at night worrying about where their window switches are?

Good for you..
Personally I hated where there were so I moved them.
so to me big improvement for very little work.

and obviously enough people hated where they were that gm moved them half way through 07

Ben
Yep part numbers are 25784258 and 25784259
there are two u-nut part numbers with 2 each required 11570097 and 11518121
six mounting bolts 6x1.0 x20 mm in length. gm wants a fortune for them so I plan on just getting some locally

But alas, think of the impact on collector value you have just done. 40 years from now, when somebody is searching out those rare early 07s with the poor window switch location, they will pass yours by. I, on the other hand, have retained my stock door panels without modification thus preserving the intrinsic rareness of my truck.

I think of T Rex every time I reach down with the bent back wrist to lower a window.

Actually, many people have discussed this mod, some have done it, I'll just use the $$ I save in collector value for beer.

That's right keep it original=$$$$$$$$$

My switches are plenty forward, however I drive my rig with the seat all the way back and the back of the seat tilted rearward...As Snoopdogg stated: "Laid back, with my mind on my money and my money on my mind"

I like the look and function of the 08 models a lot better. Had I not found a good deal on the exact color panels I needed and knowing that it wasn't impossible, I probably wouldn't have even cared about it anymore. It's just another mod to do that's not too much work and offers enough improvement that it's worth it to me to try to do it. Plus my dog stands on the handle in the back and lowers the window so I have to lock them so she can't. Of course that means the wife can't control her window either so that might be the biggest bang for my buck with doing this to not have to hear her complain when she has to ask me to open or close her window.

Um, huh, what? The back window switches didn't change.

The guy at the junkyard said the controls were on the part of the handle that goes at a 45 degree angle, not the flat part, so if that's not the case, that'll be two less doors I'll be doing and I'll have two panels for sale if he won't take them back. He sent me pics of the from but not the back so that might have been a screw up on my part.
