CEL After K&N FIPK Install

Im new to the forum, just traded my wrangler for an H3. The first thing i did was install a K&N FIPK on the H3, because ive had good luck with these in the past, but after i did i got a Check engine light . I Cleaned the sensor with o2 sensor cleaner, and adjusted the tightness on the hose clamps, but i still keep getting the P0171 bank 1 too lean code. I cleared it yesterday and by the end of the day it was back on. I dont want to give up and install the factory intake back on, but im running out of ideas. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Make sure you got all of the connections tight and all of the hoses on. I know with the '06 there is a plastic cap that you have to install on the K&N tube.....Just make sure that everything is sealed off. I ran the FIPK on my 2006 for about a year and a half without any issues whatsoever. Don't give up.......And good luck.

I have the K&N FIPK on my '07 H3. It threw the lean code once, but after clearing it, it hasn't come back. Try to get a couple hundred miles on it being gentle with the gas (assuming the light doesn't turn on until after you've driven it for a while). It may take several cycles for it to adjust to the increased air volume ...

And if that doesn't work, you have a great excuse to get a PCMforLess tune :).
