Default Caught The Fever, My New H2

Hello, my name is Eric, this is my very first post on this great forum.

For so long i wanted a H2 Hummer, but being retired from the Fire Dept, two vehicles were not needed, so it was always put off..

Then i saw a H2 at my local gym, and that was it, i had to have one..

So i began my search, i figured since they were no longer making them, i didn't need to have the latest model, i i looked at 2003 to 2006 Hummers, it seemed that they were mostly coveted. ..

So i found a 2003 H2, with just 56554 miles on it, no accidents, the color, i never saw before, it is Copper with Gray Interior. ..no sunroof, didn't want one, as i read, that they leak, and 4 DVD monitors in the the headrests. ...

It even comes with a Radar detector, hands free Cell phone system and believe it or not, its wired and setup for a snowplow, theres even a cover for the inside spare tire...

Also the rear air bags, have been replaced with springs, a big plus, and saves me money...

The best part is, i paid 20,995.00, plus taxes and prep...

I had them put it up on the lift, to check out the bottom of the truck, it looks brand new...

I am to pick it up in a few days, but as its used, i have to find a extended warranty, i have researched, several, and was wondering, if you guys have such a warranty, which do you find to be the most honest and reputable. .

I live in New Jersey, and would like to find a plan, that allows, Dealerships to perform the work..

Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. .

Awesome hummer! I had an 03. Really nice SUVs. Rode like day one when I sold it with 120k+ miles on it. They are just built really, really well.

On to the serious stuff. Imho, warranties aren't worth the paper they are printed on. That's just my experience, so take that with a grain of salt. Stealership & reputable shouldn't be used in the same sentence w/o the word "isn't." Now, if someone else in your area has had good experience with a certain mechanic or dealership, that's another story.

Nice Ride & WELCOME! I had an Extended Warranty from the Dealership when i bought mine & it just ran out about a month ago! I used it for a couple of minor issues & never had any problems but i didn't renew it after i started looking up all the BAD Reviews i'd heard about these Extended Warrantys & WOW, i read some Horror Stories! DO YOUR HOMEWORK! Getting an A+ Review from the BBB doesn't mean ANYTHING! Go online & do some reading & come back & tell us what you think! And DON'T let them do all their switch & bait & let me talk to my manager & see if i can get you a better deal & then his manager gets on & tells you yes i think we can knock of another $$$$ & this & that & which credit card would you like for us to go ahead & get your Warranty started with, blah, blah, blah! Get back with Us BEFORE you sign ANYTHING! Lol! GL Buddy!

Congrats. I went and looked at this same truck about a month ago. They had an awesome custom pearl white one there also but to expensive for me. Just make sure the power steering is good. When I looked at it in a cold morning it was stuck. Whining noise and the wheel wasn't turning. Just don't want you to have an issue after you get it. I ended up w an 06 SUT. More rare and I had an 04 wagon already. Beautiful truck though. Lots of luck with it

Great looking Hummer !!! - I followed your same path, drove a H2 at the golf course I managed ( it was a hole-in-one prize! ) and fell in love - Finally retired and started looking and found a 04 with 59,000 on the clock with the best Carfax and maintenance records I have ever seen on a vehicle.

IMO and speaking from past experience DO NOT get an extended warranty - if you have a claim they will fight you tooth and nail to cover anything! I spent my time and money finding a reputable mechanic who I trust 100% and forging a relationship with his business - when I take the H2 in I know that they will fix ONLY what is wrong and will not rip me off.

thank you, yes i saw that white one, i am not a bling type, not for me..

yes, i did hear the sound you mentioned when i first drove the truck, only for a second, i caulked it up to, low temp outside and not moving for a while, but i intend on going directly to a service center and getting all of the fluids changed...

they said the entire truck had been checked out, but we all know, used car salesmen are full of crap, can't trust them...
