this cant be right
So I got a new alternator on the truck and new batteries. Been a long time since I has turned over that strong. The voltmeter is reading about 13.8 volts. I have heard that the voltmeters on these arent very accurate. So, I checked it straight off the alternator. It's putting out 18.7 volts. OMG!!!!!!! There is no way this is correct. Maybe im mistaken and this is what this electtrical system is designed for, but I highly doubt it. Any thoughts?

Also, I checked it at idle and with revs. same voltage basically

That can't be good for your batteries.

Figured out what my voltage issue was. A dead battery. That's right a dead battery was giving me over 18 volts. Oh no, not the battery in my truck. It was the battery in my multimeter. LMAO!!! Put a new battery in and im reading 14.4 volts. Wheeeeeeeeeewwwwww! That could have been bad. Lol
