Can a stock H3 offroad safely?

Hey everyone,

If you've seen the video I posted on youtube of me driving through a flooded street at 70km/: in my H3, then you can probably guess I just became in love with offroading!

I even took my H3 up a little grass hill! Lol.

So I'm wondering, while obviously my tiny attempts at "offroading" were harmless, can a stock H3 safely do more "advanced" offroading? I'd really love to try it but I don't want to hurt my baby!

Even though the hill I went over was in my front hard, and not very big, it really showed me just how capable this truck is.

Thanks!

Can a stock H3 offroad safely?

Absolutely!!! Just understand that any offroad vehicle (and driver) has limitations. A stock H3 has good offroad capabilities, the adventure package provides more. If you really want to get hardcore, then you probably will want some aftermarket mods.

If you plan to get into offroading, I strongly recommend getting with an offroad group and not travelling alone. A good group will also help you learn how to understand your vehicle's capabilities and limitations as well as learing effective offroad techniques.

Stock H3s were made to off road. Even a base with street tires can do pretty well.

You'll have limitations because of the street tires, but hook up with some friends and go learn what it is about. Have fun.

Thanks guys! That's what I wanted to hear.

Does anyone know of a Hummer offroading group in Ontario, Canada?

Check out the CHC http://www.canadianhummerclub.com/

You could also PM Dwax here, he is active with the club and around the Toronto area, and see if his group has something in the works.

I too, would say "yes" absolutely.
I have taken my 2007 H3 (adventure package) on very steep trails that have challenged my driving skills. This truck just chugs up the trail and down the other side.
First gear and in low range is just what is advertised, a great crawl ratio
and my truck is stock

Mine is stock, she thinks she isn't. goes everywhere....

Like Doc Olds stated, " thats what they were made for " exactly! not built for mall parking lot cruising. not many rigs come from the factory with front and rear locking diffs.

Thanks everyone,

I know I only went over a tiny hill/ditch type of thing but I did it very slowly in true Hummer offroading fashion and it was really cool. I need to find a good place with slightly bigger hills!
