CAI and Cat-Back
From the moment I picked up my H3 I knew something had to be done with the power issue. First came an Airaid induction kit. That made a definate difference in throttle response, but a minor gain in mpg. I went from averaging about 15 mpg to 15.25 or so. Not much of a gain at all.
A little over a week ago I put a Gibson exhaust system on. First off, it doesn't sound nearly as good as my Avalanche with a cat-back did, but it's nice. A ton better than stock. And there is a definate power increase. Not only acceleration wise, but passing speed as well. Last night was the second tank of gas with it and I pulled down a little over 16 mpg. Granted the first tank got me 14 but I chalk that up to having to hear the rumble and stomping on it every chance I got. Still a far cry from the 20 mpg advertised, but I'll take 16. And that's a 50/50 mix of city and highway. Anyone looking for a power and mileage increase, this seems to be the way to go. Now, bring on the chip. |

Should of bought this http://www.stallioncustoms.com/16630.html
and this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/K-N-A...spagenameZWDVW Then you be a happy camper. Airaid is useless if you get the K&N you notice a big difference |
RE: CAI and Cat-Back
Actually, with the Airaid and Gibson I did notice a big difference in performance.... and for about a third of the price of the items you listed. Considering what I got and the price I paid to put the items on a lease, yeah I'm happy.
