Buying the right Lift Jack
Guys,
I am thinking about buying a lift jack for my first home based oil changed but am not really sure as to how heavy proof should I buy ? Considering my 2006 H3 is about 4700lbs from what I can find online do I need a lift that's proof for at least that much ? I can imagine that probably not as I am not really lifting the whole car. Would a 2 ton lift jack be sufficient or even less would be ok ?

ehhhh sorry dude its not oil change I am doing but chaning my brakes :P
when i hear of someone lifting a car off the ground,,,,
i NEVER do any work with a car jacked up without blocks of wood to support it or provide backup protection.
NEVER NEVER TRUST A JACK ALONE,,,NEVER,,,NOT FOR ONE MINUTE
ive said it again
tom
just to be sure
i cut up leftover chunks of 6x6 beams. wood never crushes ,slips, breaks
you can stack them, put some weight on and leave the jack in place.
u cant be toooo safe
