i drove a advent. h3 while mine got serviced yesterday and wanted to give some
thoughts on the tires. they were the dueler a/t's and if you have them on your h3
i would say change them soon. if these were on mine i think i would not have got it!
the ride is ok but they bounce around to much, they done feel like they are planeted
to the ground. on the interstate i felt unsafe at 70 mph. so i moved to the slow lanes
for the trip to the dealership. i just want to say the tires surely make the car! my h3 was
the showroom car. it the lux package with 18's and BFG a/t ko's 285-65-18. they are so different
i just liked them before but after driven with the bridgestone i lovem! i feel like my wife will
be much safer and have better control of the hummer when and if it calls. the bfgs ride smoother
they don't bounce you around the road and they feel more stable in cornering. so if you are running
bridgestones i would look in to getting bfgs or even try the brdigestone dueler revo i had these on my blazer
they are better then the dueler a/t!!!! just my two cents!!!

 

My ProComps have been good too. I had the Bridgestones and upgraded to 315/75/16's Very solid feel

if the tires were bouncing they werent balanced, if you want street tires on you HUMMER then you shouldnt be driving a HUMMER, you should be driving a HONDA

 

JBB- You are not saying what the air pressure was in your Bridgestones. Any large sidewall tire will run A LOT better with slightly more air pressure. Factory says 35psi but i use 36psi and they ride great. What surprised me was how smooth and vibration free they were especially since the wheel weights looked to be about 1 ounce -amazing for such a large tire ( 33" on mine).

 

These Bridgestones have a max tire pressure of 50 psi..Contrasting that to car tires which typically call for a max pressure of 40 psi..I always air up 8 psi under tire MAX pressure..So in this case, mine are at 42 psi and the ride is wonderful...Brisk, agile and solid...Good for fuel mileage too.

 

that must be it because the handling of the hummer sucked. the dealer ship may have had the psi to
low. i'm not knockin the hummer just the tires. but it may be that the tires did need more psi. but on the
other hand my bfg's are great. and i'll check the psi and post it. and you can see my ride in car domain now

I love my Bridgestones I've had no problems, their better than the Base and Lux series Goodyear wranglers. BFG AT or MT are also good. IMO

 

I'm disapointed in the mud/snow ability of the Bridgestones. I'm looking for a tire to replace them. I want an all terrain tire because I dont want to comprimise the street traction or icy road traction available to an AT that you give up with a mud type tire. I also want a tread life warrenty that you typically dont get with MT's. I would also like to keep the cost down to less then $200 per tire including mounting and balance. There is a local tire brand (Les Schwab if anyone is familiar with them) that has a tire that looks good in the showroom, but I've never talked to anyone who has run them. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

The general concensus of the perfect tire for what you just described is the BFG..A/T KO..., for around $166.00 for the 285/75R16 or $175.00 for the 295/75R16 from Tire Rack

 

It looks to me like the tread lugs are closer together on that tire then on the Bridgestones. Won't that be less capable in the mud/snow? I was thinking something along the lines of an agressive all terrain. It's too bad tire companies wont let you test drive tires before you buy them.
