Bounce/ Thud Thud Over Bumps
My Alpha makes a thud thud/ seems like a vertical feeling bounce noise when I go over bumps/ potholes/ uneven divots in the road with some speed. It doesn't do it over speed bumps or at lower speeds.
I had brand new upper control arms, new ball joints installed about a year ago, and greased yesterday--not those. Changed the sway bar bushings 6 months ago, not those. Also had new links (all 4) installed yesterday thinking that might have been it, but not those. Shocks were inspected and told to be looking good...but they are the originals and I have 182,000km on it. I had a look at the bump stops last night and they looked good also. Any ideas for what this could be? I have BFG KO2's, 185/75/R16 all around. The truck has not been raised/ lowered. My thought is maybe shocks given the age, but pushing down on the truck there is no squeaks or issues and they feel good, and also over speedbumps they feel good also. If it is shocks, any reccomendations on the BEST ones to get? I don't do any offroading but want a good pair for city/ highway driving. I've read good things about Rancho/ Bilstein, etc. I'd prefer black ones but can always colour a better one if needed. |
Steering rack, lower arm bushings, front diff mount bushings?

I had a thump/thud and it was the front differential mount.
I installed a cross member with a poly bushing from: Preferred Chassis Fabrication Inc. 520-975-6498 Scorpion Vehicle Company There is also a kit: https://www.outfitterdesign.com/do-i...shing-kit.html |
