Biggest Tire on Factory Rim?
I want to first say thank you for this forum. I bought a 2006 H3 and after a week it sounded like an old pirate ship driving down the road. I took a copy of the thread about the clunking noise on the H3's and they fixed it.
I am wanting to put some bigger tires on and I am tired stupid. What is the largest tire that can be placed on the factory rim? When I search for tires they give me the option of 285/75-16. I am assuming this is the largest tire. Am I correct?
thanks

You can run 315/75R16s. You may want to put a leveling kit on the front however. I have read that several people are running this size tire on completely stock suspension. I have 315s on my 06 but I did install a Trail duty leveling kit with extended bump stops and Bilstein shocks. I used the stock keys and just cranked the torsion bars up until the front set even with the back.

What about putting 36x14.5x16 Super Swamper STS on stock rims with stock suspension?

I am running 315/75/16 tires on my stock rims with no issues at all though I installed a readylift with Bilsteins in the front and extended shackles with longer Ranchos in the back. After a good front end adjustment the ride quality is very nice and no rubbing at all.
