Better 07 H3 Transmission?
I'm about to purchase either a H3 . Im torn between two cars, their both 2007 with 55k on them. Very clean, same exact options and very close in price. One is the 5 speed and other is the auto. Any reviews on to which transmission is more reliable for this model and year? Im a manual driver by heart, but all of them have been sedans or coupes, never an SUV. So please chime in on which one would be more reliable.....I know these cars arent meant for speed, but just feels the manual has more pickup, but thats only if you stay in the lower gears naturally.....please chime in w thoughts and opinions. Its greatly appreciated as this is going to be my first Hummer. Thanks!

what are you planning to use the h3 for? towing, daily driving, off road, putting on big heavy wheels and tires? all will factor in which has a slight edge over the other.

daily driver and most likely putting on 22 or 24 inch wheels in the near future... Mostly used for just looking good purposes.

The manual has a very slightly lower overall gearing in top versus the manual. That might be nice if you were going with 35's and comparing how it feels passing on the hwy, but probably not as the auto will just downshift a gear or two. I'm a manual transmission fan, but have to admit that the auto is sure nice when rock crawling.

Didn't really get that first part of the post, there was an error somewhere where you meant to put auto instead of manual or vice versa. Any difference in reliability with the two trans types? Most owners im assuming go for the auto bc of the offroading ability?

Most owners go with an AT because they only built a very limited number of 5 speeds, nothing to do with offroad ability.
22s or 24s for looks?????? |
