Battery and charching system problem...HELP!
I removed my battery to replace my alarm siren last night. Installed battery again, Turned on the truck and drove it into the garage. I noticed the radio was not working, checked the fuse and it was blown. Replaced it, and fixed the radio. This morning after about 15 min of driving, all dashboard lights came on, a bunch of "service" messages appeared and the service charging system message appeared. I was able to make it back home. I checked the battery charge and it was at 0. Charged it back up, took a test drive.....same problem. Any ideas???????

Possibly check to see if when your engine is running the value at the neg. pos. is approx 14-15v.
Also is the bat able to sustain a charge? Id check the volts across the battery when head lights are on. Should hold and not drop to much. Chris |
volts runnin at 14. w all lights and accesories on.....I changed the mega fuse and charging up the battery...lets see what happens

Welcome to HF. In the future, please avoid resurrecting an OLD Threads, this one is 4 years old in a couple weeks. Better to post your question in a NEW Thread and just link this old one.
The Mega Fuse is at the top left corner of your fuse box between the + & - power terminals of the fuse panel. Attachment 10945 It's a 125A like this one. http://images.oreillyauto.com/parts/...it/mega125.jpg |
