Average MPG?
I have a stock 06 Luxury model and i'm wondering what the average MPG should be around, and what you guys are getting. I do mostly city driving and i get 14-15 mpg. Highway i seem to get 18-19. Is this about right or should i be getting a little bit more out of it?

city is same as mine and your highway is better. you're fine, if you want anything better you need a new vehicle

That's right about what your window sticker said she'd get. You may be able to get a couple extra on the highway if you keep it under 65.

For short trips around town, from stop sign to stop sign, I will see 10-12 with the a/c on or off. General around town mix would be 14-15 and on the hwy I normally see 17.5 at 70-75 on rolling terrain. I have seen 19.3 twice- once today between OKC and Ft Hood and once heading from Amarillo into Tulsa through the hills. It took some doing though, turning off the a/c going up hills and letting speed ebb and flow with the hills (speeding up or coasting when going downhill and not accelerating up hills) as well as finding that sweet spotbetween coasting and applying the gas. If you try to hold a speed closely or always are moving the accelorator pedal around then you will use more gas. Of course higher speeds suck more gas. Getting a scangauge or other device to measure fuel economy can be very helpful too.

I forgot to add that the 06 has a smaller motor that should do about 1mpg better everywhere than the 07 and up. You are right on the money for what the EPA said you should be getting.

thanks
Thanks for the responses, i figured i was close, just wasn't sure.

After watching the RNC last night it sound like we need to vote for Mitt Romney so gas prices will get back to a realistic range.

Yeah he could just fix the Enbridge pipeline leak in Wisconsin, bring the two refineries (IL and IN) back on line after maintenance shut downs, and stop all future Hurricanes from entering the Gulf so those refineries do not have to shut down as well.

Sounds like you are very close to my results. The best hwy I have ever achieved is about 19.5 on hilly interstate. I think over flat ground and a good tailwind using a few hypermiler tricks it would be possible to get about 22. I am going to try it sometime just for fun.
