Default Antenna issue please help

Hey all, so I ran into an issue trying to swap the stock radio antenna for a a shorter one. I have tried everything and can't get the damn stock one off. It turns slightly both clockwise and counterclockwise but won't move past a certain point in either direction. I ended up stripping the base of the antenna and feel like I have exhausted all my options.

Anyone have similar issues or have tips on how they removed their antenna? I'd hate to take it to the dealership for something so petty and don't feel like paying them $50-$100 but I'm not letting the antenna win this battle.

HELP!!!

The antenna has a standard thread (lefty loosey) but corrosion can set in and make it pretty well stuck?

Try some PB Blaster.

You can also just cut the stock antenna. I did this years ago. My antenna is just below the windshield height. After I cut it, I glued on a new plastic end cap to finish it off.

Yes, it will shorten radio reception distance somewhat, but I haven't noticed any reception limitation difference in five years. The stock antenna in not a resonant antenna (amplified)
