Another Transfer case fluid question
I have an 06' H3 with an automatic transmission. I want to change my transfer case fluid and it says to use dexronIII with the H specification. I've been told they don't make dexron III anymore. So I bought Castrol dexron VI synthetic automatic transmission fluid instead because it says on the label that it replaces dexron III with the H specification. Is this fluid ok to use???? If not what should I get?
Thanks
Mark

It was discussed yesterday: https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=22898
manual transmission fluid part number 88861800
manual transmission fluid part number 88861800
Right, this topic was posted the other day. . .
When in doubt, go to dealer and get "manual transmission fluid" Part # 88861800
Tell them you have an 06.

i havnt looked at my 10 book as i have a few yrs to go.
is it possible that different years used AUTO TRANS fluid in what must be the same t case???

Your post Yesterday @ 1:21pm
"sounds like our egypt foreign policy,in,out,go,stay,go soon but no rush.
whats a mother to do" (by the way your not funny)
was after someone already stated that the 06, 07 and 08 manuals have 3 different types of fluids mentioned. Then a 10 owner said his manual said Dextron VI. So you already knew that 3 different years called for 3 different fluids in the same transfercase.
all the same, it does'nt sound right. i just present the truth with completly accurate and factual statements, and, a little humor thrown in on ocassion.
btw you culd keep your blood pressure down by just skipping over my posts if u have nothing to offer, like the x2,x3,x4 that is used by some to get in with nothing worthwhile!
after thinking this over, it makes more sense to use auto trans fluid. the mechanism is much like a front drive auto trans with chain drive so im done, satisfied.
