Alpine Aftermarket Radio and Monsoon Intergration
Please can someone provide me with some clarity around installing a Head Unit [Alpine INE w990bt] to the existing Monsoon amplifier,
Can it be wired directly to the monsoon amp or do I HAVE to use the CMOS-04 interface between the two? I have read that if I don't use the CMOS-04 my Sub-Woofer wont be working anymore? Is this correct? Is it possible to get everything to work without the CMOS-04 adapter? Any input would be very much Appreciated. |
im no xpert, but looking at schematic, the monsoon amp needs 4 signals from the radio, left and right, front and rear. the amp must make up the 4 door signals and 2 tweeter signals and then the subwoofer, actual 2 outputs to the woofer 2 voice coils.
your radio must provide those 4 signals the way the amp wants them. interface,,?? maybe. someone will know more, soon! me, i love my monsoon as-is! |
Thanks , I love my Mosoon system but my OEM head Unit was smashed by some wood I was transporting in my H3.
I don't have On-Star and also not to concerned about the chimes etc , My real concern is I don't want to loose my "great" sound by Installing a After Market head unit. |
you can get a monsoon head ez at junkyards.

Live in South Africa so its very expensive to import these spares , the shipping and import duties cost more than the actual product.
