LOL Just thought that i would bust your chops a little.............but seriously, did you check the wiring, make sure a connection exists and that a fuse isn't blown? I did not realize that the part was so expensive brand new.
Hope you get it sorted out with the least bit of monetary out lay..........
By the way, I'm an ex New Yorker and my son does the state inspections...

I know this is a grave dig, but do you guys know which fuse is for the 3rd brake light?

i think its wired with the brake lites,all together. if brk lites are ok it could b wire/plugs,etc

checked, wired direct to stop switch with other brk lites

I know this is a super old thread but has anyone ever tried using a universal one? The GM part is on National backorder and I have 11 days left on my failed inspection sticker. I called my auto shop and they said they have never tried a universal one but its $30 vs $200. Thanks!

You can buy a strip of LED lights basic 2 wires and connect to vehicle wires. My son just did ours yesterday. Cost me $14 U can cut the led strip to size. About 5 inches. Very easy to take old one out
