I'm gettin ready to get new tires, any suggestions on sizes 305/70-16 or 325/70-16?

i was looking to get the 305 70 16 or the 315 75 16 whats the diffrence with the 325 70 16 ?

 

They're wider...

The 315/75R16 are 34.6 inches in diameter

The 325/70R16 are 33.9 inches in diameter..but wider

Keep in mind the first number is the width and the second number is the percentage of width in side wall height

 

If the 325 is wider then the 315 and some one on here said the 315 hits a little bit then i would think the 325 being wider would really hit i dont know i guess it would ????thats why i dont know to go with the 315 75 16 or the 305 70 16. i want 1 inch taller and 1 inch wider then the 285.

 

The first number is the width in Millimeters from side wall bulge to side wall bulge across the tire.

285 = 11.22 inches

295 = 11.61 inches

305 = 12.00 inches

315 = 12.40 inches

325 = 12.79 inches

I would turn my wheels to full lock and then measure the distance of your tires now, to the nearest inner wheel well area that could rub on the tire..Both tires as they sit in this full cranked position..This should give you an idea of how much wider you can afford to go before something rubs..(use list of dimensions above for comparison)

 

So what do you think would be the best look with the space i have now form leveling mine out ?

 

To be safe with clearence..LT295/75R16 BFGs All-Terrain T/A KO..That's 33.4 inches in diameter..This is what I'm gonna get anyway!

 

Anyone know how 315/75-16 fit with the stock wheel?

 

It will fit but it is NOT recommended by any tire manufacturer. I believe the mininum rim width should be 8".
