2010 H3 Sound system help??

Just bought new 2010 h3 without the monsoon sound system and added a Kenwood dnx6020ex. Since putting it in, my factory speakers sound aweful! What is cheapest way to make it sound better? Add a sub and amp? replace door speakers? I dont really want to lose my cargo space in back, so it have to be something small. I saw the JBL hideaway, but I dont have the right panels because I did not get monsoon package. I went to local stereo store today, of course they said I need some $1000 system to make it better...I have put so much into it already, that $1000 more for a cleaner sound with a little bass just isnt worth it. I figured my fellow Hummer folk could me out...thanks...I am glad I found this page!

Try replacing the speakers and see how that sounds. also try setting the eq on the radio

Try setting the little knob on the wiring harness. Mine didn't sound good until I played with the voltage knob since my preout's were really high for the stock sound system.

You'll only have that knob if you used a wiring harness adapter from like metra and didn't just hillbilly rig it in.

I put a Kenwood DNX9960 in mine. I have two 15 inch rockford fosgate subs going in this weekend. I'll probably replace the stock speakers very soon too, but they sound fine for ****ty oem stuff, same as it did before the new head unit.
