BUT WHERE ARE THE AIRPLANE LOOKING ROUND VENTS AND GENERAL WEIRDNESS THAT JUST MAKE IT A HUMMER, AND NOT A BENZA-BURBA-YOTA-LADE?
also, when i forget to roll up my windows before mud bogging, and spray 2 gallons of slop into the truck, is all this generic foam crap going to clean up as easily as the plastic?
Dear Hummer,
i love my H2 because its not normal. not because it is normal. audio magazine reviewers are not very smart, not very original, and not very interesting at all. They once had an offroad showdown taht a hummer LOST, after the hummer was the only vehicle that made it across one obstacle and then winched the other trucks across. That means the hummer won, ok? They are dumb, please don't listen.
foamy generic dashboards are great for BMWs and Mercedes, and Escalades. I just want my plastic interior to come with some rubber gaskets so it doesn't develop rattles when i offroad all the time (3,100 offroad miles and counting), and to remain as weird looking as it ever was.
Also, i LOVE the 6-speed tranny. That would mean that in low range, with the 6l90 tranny, i'd have a crawl ratio of 50:1, which would make alot of rocks and ledge type obstacles a little easier to navigate. I know the crawl ratio that comes on the '07 and older trucks doesn't ever cause the trucks to FAIL to make an obstacle, but it does make them go over a little less gracefully than lower-geared trucks could.
I respect the choice of 3.73 axle ratio - for most of your customers - especially with the more powerful engine - this is a better choice - but i really wish you'd offer 4.10 gearing for the "adventure" package, as the 3.73 gearing gives back some of what the 6-speed gains us.
And finally, please offer the adventure package with 37" tires standard and a beefed up front end to go along with them. I promise we'll pay wahtever you charge, andi promise to buy one.

And while it takes alot more practice and skill to fully utilize, the TCS in the '06 H2 is a more powerful traction tool, all in all, than the standard locker, or even than front/rear/center lockers like my truck.
On big steps or ledges, or rocks (which are sort of just alot of big steps and ledges in a row), and in deep snow, the lockers are a better traction choice. But you put huge strain on the drivetrain using the lockers at any real speed, especially if you runt he risk of suddenly getting traction, and double especially if you have to turn while needing traction (which can cause a locked truck to hop or slide)
The TCS lets you turn freely without any weirdness, and is invaluable in those times you need traction when the truck is moving with some speed. Also, the TCS is a better tool for climbing wicked steep hills, as in general the H2 has moret han enough power to climb anything if traction is good, and the times you'll get turned away from a hill are (in my experience) times when you have a sandy or gravely surface and the tires dig in. The TCS stops spinning wheels and transfers power to wheels with better traction, and it gets me up things that using the lockers leaves me dug in, sunk, and backing back down.
In mud i think its just tires more than anything, and the TCS nor lockers aren't all that big of a help (the lockers unlock when the tires spin too fast anyway)
So i'm pretty much excited, yet kind of nervous, about this:
A new, four-channel anti-lock braking/traction control system (ABS/TCS) provides optimum control on slippery surfaces. In addition, the ABS can detect and adjust its braking capabilities to rough off-road surfaces like gravel and potholes.
however, if the new TCS is similar to that in other vehicles (like aformentioned 4-runner), then it won't function like the one in the '06.
In my '06 H2, the TCS jsut re-directs power. A theoretically similar system int he Pris or 4-runner seems to cut power, and when the wheels spin the vehicles basically come to a stop. In the hummer you can slow down on a hill, with the "traction active" light on the dash, and it will keep power to the wheels and sort of figure out a way to go up, but int he 4-runner its if-tires-spin, truck stops, and my 4-running pal has to shut his TCS off to get any real ability to spin and claw through things.
kinda nervous about this one

also i hpe the seats aren't less comfy.
the H2s seats are, hands down, the most comfy seats in any vehicle i've ever been in.
i love the fact that they are working on the big truck, but i love thet ruck i have so much taht its making me nervous.
i better stop posting now

So far I feel like if and when I buy another H2, it's going to have to be an 07 with LOW miles. LOL I guess I'll have to see an 08 in person.
I'll never forget the shock and awe the first time I got into an H2.
