2008 h3 bad vibration @ 70 mph....help
I m looking at buying a 2008 h3 ..but at 70 mph. it gets a hell of a vibration in the rear... i think.. the dealer said wheel out of balance.. that did not work.. still the re maybe a little better....now the gonna put on new tires.. any have problems such as this /??
thanks wade |
lets see, when i bought mine used with 38k they still had the factory tires on which were cupping, i had a bad rear shock, and it was out of alignment which i think may be your problem. check into an alignment first if you still have some life left in your tires. these trucks ride like a luxury car when everything is in order. good luck

not sure what to think
the dealership said it is a drive shaft issue . do they bend? I have had u joints in the past go out that is a dead giveaway but a bad drive shaft..on a year old truck with 35k .. did i buy a pile or what

Modern aluminum driveshafts can bend and/or be dented very easily. Running over a blown tire on the highway can cause just enough damage to the driveshaft to cause a vibration at 70 mph. If I were in your shoes, I would let the dealer replace the driveshaft then take the H3 out for a test drive. Lovin' my '06 H3 !! good luck, dan

thanks for the help
we test drove three or four h3s. one previous at the same dealer had the steering shaft or shock issue ..when hitting pot holes @ 30 or so clunked . so we picked out this one newer and less miles. we did buy it and bad on my part i just drove it around town. once we hit the highway and got to 70 mph the vibration showed up .. we took it back and here we are. I plan to let them do whatever it takes to make it right . I do have 30 days to decline the sale i think. besides i never made it home with the truck.. and they gave us our trade back so it s not like were stuck with some loner car.
thanks :) |
