2008 H2 Check Engine Light Fix EVAP Related
 

82,000 miles. Bought Ancel AD310 to diagnose problem. Good video here: . Cost approx. $35.00 on Amazon.com. AD showed codes P0449 (system vent value) and P0455v (large leak). Ordered AC Delco part no 214-2149 and installed it. Amazon.com approx. $17.00. Removed old solenoid. Inspected and tested it. 12 volts to connection pins should shut the valve: Valve did not activate. Measured solenoid resistance with ohm meter: Open circuit. Basic repair steps (after obtaining the fault codes): 1) remove driver's side rear wheel flare and inner wheel well cover, 2) reach in and remove the power source connector, 3) remove old solenoid and mounting bracket. It has one bolt and a cable bundle tie-down that must be cut, 4) Move the bracket and solenoid closer to the frame rail which makes it easier to remove the EVAP system hose. Be careful not to break the connector, 5) remove the solenoid from the plastic bracket, 6) Remove the top cover of the solenoid and inspect it, 7) test the solenoid with a 12 vdc source and ohm meter. 12 vdc on and off should open and close the solenoid. 8) assuming it is defective, replace it, 9) reinstall all components, 10) turn the engine on and off at least three times to reset the code. THIS FIXED MY EVAP ISSUE. Total time approx. two hours. If it does not fix your check engine light issue retest with the AD310. See attached images for more info.
