2007 Hummer H3x Towing Capability

Please clarify the towing capability of my H3x 2007 for a travel trailer gross weight and dry -- meaning no occupants, liquids or personal belongings in the trailer. Some say 3,000#s - others say 4,500 #s???? My engine is an in-line 5 cylinder 242 hp. Hummer in like new condition and completely original - 93k mi white

Research shows I have limited capability of maybe a 21 ft trailer by some manufacturers. Wld like to go to a 24 ft travel trailer. Use will be primarily in FL.

ALL of the information you seek is on your vehicle. Driver door sill or Driver door. looks like the photo below.

Also in the owners manual (in the glove box)!

If your H3X is an I5 A/T and has the tow package, which most do, you have a towing capacity of 4500lbs. Only 3000lbs if it is manual. Obviously if you load your vehicle with an additional 1000lbs of payload plus passengers you will be putting a huge load on your Hummer. Add to that towing in Florida in the summer heat you may want to rethink what you want to do, maybe look into a different vehicle with more towing capacity.
With my 2007 H3X with the I5 and I frequently tow a single axle enclosed motorcycle/utility trailer loaded with 2 full size Harleys, they each weigh about 900lbs. I have an additional 500lbs of gear and tools, and the trailer weighs 1750lbs. That's roughly 4000lbs and I can tell you if there's any kind of hills I have to use D3 and not Drive, otherwise the tranny keeps shifting up and down. This makes for a comfortable 65mph and about 14mpg on the hiway. And, per the owners manual I do change my transmission fluid and transfer case fluid more frequently, about every 20000 miles, to keep it fresh. I've been doing this for about 5 years and have had no problems but I believe my set up is at the high end of what the Hummer H3 with the I5 was designed to handle comfortably.
