2006 H3 Key - Transponder or Not
Hi,
I am new to the forums and have a 2006 H3. I wanted the dealer to cut me another key and he wanted $87. Yikes. How do I determine if my key has a transponder in it? With my last non-Hummer vehicle, it had a visible "chip" on it. Do I have to have a dealer cut a key or can I get one done at the local hardware store? Thanks, Kimber |
RE: 2006 H3 Key - Transponder or Not
it does not have a transponder in it....I use a cheap $6 ebay key.

Importkiller is right! The owners' manual says the fuel will not cut in if an incorrect key is used, but I had two keys made yesterday at a local key shop for $5.00. They work great.

the H3's use a new anti-theft called Passlock II...no transponder key used but you do need a bypass if installing an auto start.
