I've been wondering how possible would it be to change the steering wheel airbag to black when you have one that is pewter / wheat / beige in color
By changing the 2003 wheat air bag to a 2003 black air bag would you be making changes to an underlining system that would affect the title of the vehicle or be shown on a carfax report in the future.


I don't understand why GM made it that color it's almost as if they ran out of the composite material so they just poured what they had laying around in the mold
irregardless if it's considered a base unit or a lux model, I don't see what they were thinking if anyone knows background on this that would be cool.

Otherwise anyone have any knowledge on the swap?

 

It wont hurt your carfax if you change the airbag. A black airbag will be a direct bolt on. If you really want to change the looks Grant has some new custom airbag steering wheels.
